I think that exchange students would agree that planning ahead is very helpful, and the best way to do that is to form connections as early as possible. Going out with other students to bars or to explore the town. Students who go on international exchanges obviously like to get out, so it hasn’t been hard to find some people who would want to go out."

"I heard that the program was good for my degree from back home, and I always wanted to study abroad. The campus at HM is a lot smaller than my home university which is very interesting. I have also gone to many international club meetings where I see international students from my classes there and they are fun to go to and meet people. I like to walk around the city a lot and explore new places. I’ve enjoyed day trips to Tegernsee or Salzburg, which were fun and easy to get to."

"Cal Poly has the campus life that you always imagine and something that is completely missing at most universities in Germany. It makes you more independent, self-confident, and open-minded. There is always something going on on campus: there is music, food, therapy dogs you can pet, or you can do crafts, etc. The International Center and various clubs on campus also organize a lot. As internationals, we do a lot like going to the beach or taking trips in the surrounding area."
